The Martin Luther King Foundation of Florida, Inc.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Foundation of Florida Inc. is a non-profit Florida corporation that was established in 1985 for the purpose of memorializing the civil rights work of the late, great Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. The foundation, it’s advisory board, and members work diligently to carry out his mission and live by his ideals, advancing the cause of equal rights in the Tallahassee community. Through charitable endeavors, the foundation has successfully supported a range of causes, notably helping to lobby for the installation of Reverend King’s Birthday as an official statewide holiday.
Additionally, the foundation has provided several educational scholarships to deserving local youth and sponsored many philanthropic events such as the annual “Helping from the Heart” free Thanksgiving dinner. As long time chairman of the MLK Foundation, Attorney David Frank has been a highly-involved leader in this organization and his community. Most recently, Attorney Frank has been active in planning and implementing ceremonies such as the Martin Luther King Jr. Event, in honor of Reverend King’s birthday and his honorable work in civil rights; and the foundation’s Third Annual Black History Month program, which recognized several civic leaders in Tallahassee on their outstanding achievements and overall commitment to the Tallahassee community.
Soul Santa is an annual December event hosted by The LeVerne F. Payne Community Center and the Tallahassee Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Affairs Department. Tallahassee residents are invited to join the jolly man in red, Santa Claus, in celebrating the holidays. Entertainment, music, games, and various vendors fill the community center as Santa arrives with sponsored gifts for children. Each December, The Frank Law Firm is sure to join in on the fun, helping to support our local kids.
