Hollywood woman wins $1.29 million in lawsuit against Allstate

A Broward jury this week ordered an insurance company to pay $1.29 million to one of its customers, a Hollywood woman who was critically injured in a 2008 car accident.

Theresa Karl, 56, told the jury that she had no choice but to sue her own insurance company, Allstate, when it refused to pay her medical bills following the accident, which was the fault of another driver.
